Nepal-US tech ties have expanded in recent years: Thompson
US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R Thompson, has said that tech ties between Nepal and the United States have expanded in recent years. Speaking at the launch of the Kathmandu office of US-based tech company Veel and the unveiling of its latest products in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Thompson said companies like Veel are demonstrating how Nepal's growing tech ecosystem is presenting meaningful opportunities for US firms to enhance their core offerings while simultaneously supporting Nepal's private sector-driven economic growth. 'Together, we are unlocking new opportunities for both nations,' Thompson said.

Ambassador Thompson attended the launch event in Kathmandu, which was livestreamed in real time with VEEL's team based in San Francisco. Ambassador Thompson praised VEEL's innovative work, noting that the platform equips content creators with cutting-edge tools, connects them with leading global brands, and supports U.S. and international companies in running creative and effective marketing campaigns. He highlighted that VEEL's expansion creates new jobs and economic opportunities across both Nepal and the United states.
